Research: Film trailer analysis  Film trailer 1: Narrative and genre This film trailer successfully communicates the narrative and genre to the audience through the consistent use of the same setting as well as only focusing on main characters who are used consistently throughout The way the trailer communicates narrative and genre is through the sound effects which are quite loud and abrupt, there are also whisperings included in some scenes. The genre is presented as horror as there are jump scares included as well as the lighting which is consistently dark and dull which creates mystery and fear for the audience. The voiceover in the background of the trailer where we hear the characters exchanging dialogue shows how they are looking for a demon like figure around there house and it mentions a supernatural energy. The editing of the trailer is extremely fast which leaves the audience confused and terrified at the same time which serves the purpose to convey the horror genre s
