Media reviews

Media reviews 1) Write mini-reviews of your THREE favourite films; My first favourite video was the 'Earthquake' music video made by a GCSE media student. The reason why this was one of my favourite videos is because the cinematography was very well filmed; there were different camera angles from high to lot shots, and from zoomed in to distant shots which gave the video a professional effect and gave the impression that the camera person is very well trained with the camera. Aspects of mise-en-scene were also included such as costumes where the actor was dressed appropriate to suit the genre of the music video. Another aspect is setting; the video was shot in a playground/basketball court which was appropriate because the music is about an earthquake. The editing was the best part of this video because it really convey the narrative of the sound which was about an earthquake; the video was edited to shake and create an earthquake effect when the beat was harsh which rea

Sound video feedback and learner response

Sound video feedback and learner response     Mr Halsey: Clip get a reaction before we even start- always a good sign. Parallel works well and entertains the audience. Contrapuntal is interesting- because the dancing is in synch (good editing). I'm not sure if it is contrapuntal; would horror clips or similar have been more effective? The contrapuntal aspect is on EBI but some elements did work.   WWW's: The use of music and syncing of the music was really effective which allowed the audience to understand parallel really quickly Fresh prince was completely parallel and the music choice was perfect with parallel The parallel sound was clear and the transition of clips was very smooth Good use of parallel music Clear switch. Editing was good It was entertaining The video was so well with the sound Good music and use of parallel sound. Like the way both clips edited to fit the musicality of the song Good music tack and edit T

Sound Video

The idea behind this video is one part is choreographed dance which is parallel to the music and the second part is a freestyle dance which is contrapuntal to the music. However, the beat to the music makes it look like it blends however, the dance moves from the second part show that it is contrapuntal.

Mise en scene

The idea behind this video is a scary/horror concept and during this short time lapse parts of it will give that idea. In the video you will be able to see the transformation of a young boy into a scary zombie. The music in the background compliments the idea of this video which is why it was chosen. Furthermore, the music in the background makes it the video very realistic. The lighting is different, very bright and stands out, allowing the character to shine more focusing on him.

Lighting   This image mainly consists of low-key lighting as the picture is made up of a contrast between shadow and light. Top lighting is used in this image because the light is coming from the top of the picture which makes the character appear more glamourous and extenuates the woman's feminine features. The use of low-key and top lighting makes the picture seem more mysterious as some parts of the image is hidden in the dark and some parts of the image have light directly on them to draw more attention it, such as the smoke. As only one side of her face is lit, this could mean that the woman has a split character in which one side is bad. This image is also mainly made up of low-key lighting, due to half of the image being in the dark with very little light. Top lighting is used as you can clearly see that light is being directed towards her face from the top left corner of the image. The use of this lighting, similarly to the one above, make
