Learner Response
1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full.
--> - Good use of horror conventions! The music works well, the editing is well-paced in building tension and the little cuts to the blurry white-screen effect work very well. I think you've got a good performance out of your actor too.
2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and your teacher feedback, write three WWW bullet points (What Went Well) and three EBI bullet points (Even Better If...) for your film.
WWW: I think that I did really well with including the elements of horror and thriller in the short film.
EBI; I think that i should have included the voice over that I said i would included to give it a more professional view. Furthermore, the setting should have been a house or someones room rather then a class room because that would have been more professional.
3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your preliminary exercise statement of intent?
-->I think that to some extent I completed the objective in my statement of intent because it was low budget and i did include the elements of horror and thriller in the scene. However, i failed to include the voice over in the short scene and it did come out a bit less professional then expected.
4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?
--> I have learnt that i should be more organised and make sure that i hit the deadline and plan everything in advanced so that I'm not doing everything at once and it comes out rushed. My main problem was time, so if I followed a set schedule it would have turned out better.
5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, what are your current plans for your actual coursework? This could include genre, narrative, characters, filming locations etc.
--> My current plans are to still carry on doing Horror as my main genre. However, include more characters into my scene and film it in a more professional setting. The narrative will be more structured; i think i will be changing my narrative slightly so that I can achieve the type of horror i want, which is more possessed typed character.

- The mise-en-scene is mixed. The school desk and the
drama studio are pretty easy to identify and it's not clear why it's in that
location. The result is that it looks like a school production rather than a
professional horror film. Ultimately, we are trying to reach professional
standards with the film trailer so that's something to reflect on for the real
production.
- The key weakness though is that you haven't
met the brief. You needed to include at least two characters, match-on-action,
shot-reverse-shot, a range of camera shots and dialogue/voiceover. You have not
included any of these2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and your teacher feedback, write three WWW bullet points (What Went Well) and three EBI bullet points (Even Better If...) for your film.
